Welcome to volume 8 issue 12 of Monthly Mineral Chronicles. This is a publication pulled together by a mineral collector for mineral collectors.
This month, in this 61 page full-colour issue we have the following articles:
- Mineral Snippet – Goethite. A common, but interesting mineral.
- Not all that Glitters is Gold. Paul shares an analysis of a goethite specimen from the Czech Republic.
- Illustrated Minerals of Australia Volume 5, Part 7 – Metaschoepite to Microcline.
- Locality Snippet – Rock Island Dam, Douglas County, Washington, USA, a place where zeolites were first discovered during the deepening of a channel in a river.
- Courtland and Gleeson Mine Confusion, Cochise Co. Arizona. This month, Rolf tells us about the challenges of putting names to mines.
- Minerals and Elements: Iodine, an element that, when gently heated, transforms directly from a solid into a cloud of purple vapour.
Again this month, for many of the excellent images, is the ability to click on the image to bring up a larger version. Not only do you get a bigger version, but in some cases, the image you see published may be a cropped version.
This issue is now available at Kofi.
