Welcome to volume 9 issue 10 of Monthly Mineral Chronicles. This is a publication pulled together by a mineral collector for mineral collectors.

This month, in this 66 page full-colour issue, we have the following articles:

  • Mineral Identifications Over the Years. Rolf Luetcke relates his experiences with the sometimes-challenging identification of minerals, and warns us to not just take what someone else says as definitive.
  • Local shows – Mildura and Waverley.
  • Illustrated Minerals of Australia Volume 5, Part 17 – Omphacite to Opal.
  • Locality Snippet – Magnet Mine, Waratah, Tasmania, the Type Locality for “Chrome” cerussite.
  • Mineral Snippet – Chalcophyllite.
  • Minerals and Elements: Platinum, an element renowned for its silvery-white lustre, extreme resistance to corrosion, and very high melting point.

Again this month, for many of the excellent images, is the ability to click on the image to bring up a larger version. Not only do you get a bigger version, but in some cases, the image you see published may be a cropped version.

This issue is now available at Kofi.
